Abstract
This article explores the squat, deadlift and bench press prescribed by fitness trainers, strength and conditioning coaches and rehabilitation therapists to develop whole body strength, improve health outcomes or to rehabilitate the upper and lower limb following injury. More specifically, the purpose of this article is to review the health and performance benefits of the squat, deadlift and bench press.
