Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the traditional Tangail handloom techniques with future propositions to modern fashion design. Tangail handloom emphasizes sustainability while preserving the region's rich legacy by focusing on traditional concepts of cultural preservation, environmental awareness, workmanship, natural materials, minimal disposal, and fair trading. The different facts of the Tangail handloom are examined in this study, including its historical background, manufacturing procedure, design motifs, and prospective applications in contemporary fashion design practices. This inquiry intends to support the preservation of this traditional art form and stimulate its adaptation in the international fashion business by looking at how “Tangail Handloom Tant” is used in modern clothing. A series of collections were made at the end of the study to demonstrate a new approach to design techniques letting unknown people from the region's outskirts find the source of inspiration for their ideation and concept of fashion design practice.
